What to Expect

At Acadiana Treatment Center, young women can receive the highest-quality care delivered by a team of compassionate experts. Our residential facility in Sunset, Louisiana, offers adolescent girls the support they need to heal from the behavioral health disorders that have kept them from living their very best lives.

Ideal Healing Environment

If your child is struggling with a behavioral health concern, it can be hard to make the decision to send them to a residential facility. Having them away from home can bring up a range of difficult emotions, including concern for their well-being during their time outside of your care.

At Acadiana Treatment Center, we fully recognize the trust you place in us by choosing our residential facility in Sunset, Louisiana, for your child.

Our healing environment is ideal for the young people we serve. We’ve created a homelike atmosphere through an array of amenities, like a game room, a gym, a volleyball court, and two outdoor basketball courts. And a scenic walking trail runs alongside the pond on our campus, offering residents a place to reflect after therapy sessions.

We know just how overwhelming it can be for a child to be away from home while they receive care for a behavioral health disorder. Our staff will do everything they can to help your child feel safe, welcome, and supported throughout their time with us.

Age-Appropriate Care

Every young person’s body and mind develop at their own pace, and this can impact how they respond to therapy. That’s why it’s so important for young people to receive care that is appropriate for their age.

The therapies and services we use at Acadiana Treatment Center are best suited to support adolescents at various stages of their lives. Our team most commonly utilizes modalities like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and motivational interviewing, though the methods they use also depend on each child’s unique situation.

Under the guidance of professionals, your child can address the concerns that are most often seen in adolescence. They might learn ways to manage intense emotions, develop conflict resolution skills, and create healthy boundaries. With age-appropriate care delivered by the experts at our Sunset, Louisiana, facility, your child can start to live a happier, more independent life.

Individualized Support

We recognize that there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to healing from a behavioral health disorder. Your child will work with a multidisciplinary team made up of experts who will take the time to understand how to best support them throughout their residential stay.

To accomplish this, your child’s care team will thoroughly evaluate their medical history and current symptoms, and they will also conduct a physical exam. Using this information, we will create a personalized treatment plan that includes the therapies and services that can best prepare your child for success.

Once your child begins their residential stay at our Sunset, Louisiana, facility, their care team will continue to work directly with them to guide them through each aspect of their treatment plan. We’ll encourage your child to take an active role in their healing process, helping them grow their confidence and a sense of purpose as they achieve their therapeutic goals.

Your child’s struggles with a behavioral health concern should not stop them from living the life they deserve. If you think that a residential stay at Acadiana Treatment Center can help, reach out to us today.
